Since establishing McCormick Financial in 1991, John has undertaken a host of strategic planning, expert witness and valuation and fairness opinion assignments. Owing to confidentiality obligations partial lists of each of these types of assignment are included in linked pages. John has 12 years of investment banking experience with Canadian investment dealers and served as a director of ScotiaMcLeod and Levesque Beaubien Geoffrion. Prior to entering the investment banking industry, he practiced law for 5 years with Parlee Irving in Edmonton, gaining experience focused in the corporate, commercial and tax law areas. John lectured at the University of Alberta in tax to MBA students and in accounting to Bachelor of Commerce students. Mr. McCormick addressed the May 2003 CAMPUT (Canadian Association of Members of Public Utility Tribunals) conference on "Current Perspectives on Cost of Capital". John earned his LLB and MBA at the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Calgary.
